London Fashion Week Festival

Hey there,

London Fashion Week Festival ended this weekend and I went there on Sunday to see the Juicy Couture show with my friend Karen Lohana who took all the amazing pictures below.

Juicy Couture was known by their tracksuits, usually with their logo, and a girly touch like a heart design or something shimmery. Well, there are still doing that but I was pleasantly surprised to see much more variety on their looks. Variety and diversity, look at those models! They are all different but equally gorgeous.

After the show we walked around and checked some small brands that are doing great things. Vestiare Collective was also there, showcasing some beautiful items that are pre-owned but still perfect. Never Fully Dressed was also there with their beautiful shirts and skirts that suit everyone.

I let you enjoy the pictures from the show now.

Hope you like it!

Dandelyan Bar

Hey there,

Tomorrow is Thursday, AKA Thirsty Thursday, yay!

Here’s a cool place for drinks if you want to try something new, the Dandelyan Bar at the Mondrian Hotel. It’s in Southbank by the Thames, where you can get a gorgeous view of the St. Paul’s cathedral.

The ambience is cool and the drinks are to die for!

Hope you like it!

London Eye

Hey there,

I hope you are all having a great start of the week. I´m really lucky to be spending my second week in Vail, Colorado, where everything seems to have been taken out of a fairytale – so magical and beautiful (I´ll be sharing some photos soon).

Here´s an easy look I wear almost every weekend, sometimes with heels but it works well with sneakers as well. A pair of jeans, a cozy sweater and an oversized coat, it can´t get easier than that guys. And just to add that extra spark to your outfit, what about some statement earrings and a cute small handbag? This is where you get to play with accessories as you like. What about choosing a big colourful scarf instead? There are as many options as you want, just be creative and have fun!

Hope you like it!

Street XO London

Hey there,

Today’s post is for the foodies, for those whose mouth starts watering whenever they see food, no matter if it’s french fries or the most exquisite dish from a Michelin starred restaurant. I’m with you!

StreetXO is the first London restaurant by Dabiz Muñoz, the wild Spanish chef whose dishes are all to die for. He started his career in London learning from some of the greatest chefs from Hakaksan and Nobu. After opening two restaurants in Madrid, he decided it was time to open one in London in November 2016.

You should note I went to this restaurant a few months back and they have recently changed their menu. I’m sure the new one is as good as they one I tried and I can´t wait to check it out!

La ‘Pedroche’ croquettes are the best croquettes I’ve ever tried! it’s the chef’s sweet tribute to his wife.

The lasagna was also excellent and like no other I’ve tried before. It’s definitely not a typical lasagna you would find in a regular Italian.

Scallops, where to start here…, my favourite! Every time I go to a restaurant and they have scallops, I can’t resist but to try them. This was of course extraordinary as well.

And if you have followed me for a while or know me well enough, you’ll know I’m not a fan of desserts, but this cheesecake was something else!

Graffiti stroll

Hey there,

Happy New Year y`all!

Hope you had a lovely holiday break and are ready to rock this 2018!

This year I´ve decided to have only one new year resolution so I can easy stick to it, no excuses! And that resolution is to commit to share with you at least one post a week. This 2018 I really want to see my blog raising up and that can only come with work and commitment, and with the help of my lovely friend and photographer Karen Lohana, of course, who is behind the lenses most of the time – thanks Karen!

I also have some content of my trips from 2017 that I will be gradually sharing with you on the coming weeks. 2017 was such a great year and I feel really grateful that I got to travel to so many beautiful places. Let´s just hope 2018 will be the same.

The look that I bring you today can be also called my weekend uniform. So easy and effortlessly. Here are the steps to create the ultimate effortless look:

  1. Get some skinny jeans (your choice of ripped jeans or classic ones).
  2. Throw in a baggy or oversize jumper (looks great with skinny jeans).
  3. Now step up on some boots (I tend to wear heeled ones as I´m short).
  4. Add an oversize coat (great to balance the shape with skinny jeans).
  5. Get that a statement bag or party bag that will raise your outfit to the next level.
  6. Finally, time to add some bling bling, get that jewel power out!

Et voilà! You´ve got your weekend uniform – comfy and stylish, your confidence will show up.

Let me know what you think of this look and if you too have a weekend or daily uniform.

Hope you like it!

Marta

Afternoon Tea at Searcys

Hey there,

Who doesn’t like a proper afternoon tea?

Since I came to London three years ago, I have embraced their tea culture more and more. Before that, I wouldn’t drink tea at all, only on rare occasions. Now, I drink tea almost every day! I guess I’m becoming more British in a way.

Here I’m sharing today some photos of the last afternoon tea that I had at Searcys. It was a champagne afternoon tea so as well as our choice of tea we had a bubbly glass 🙂 Mine was a Kirk royale and my friend’s Eva was a mimosa.

I don’t have a sweet tooth so what I liked the most were the sandwiches and the scones – I do love scones!

What about you? Do you like afternoon tea?

Hope you like it!

Dior Cruise 2018 Collection

Hey there,

Last week I was invited to see the presentation of the Dior Cruise 2018 Collection at their boutique in Sloane Street, London. I was really excited to go to this event and I immediately asked my friend and new photographer Karen to come along with me. We could´t wait! She took all the photographs below I´m sharing today with you.

The event was from 6pm to 8pm and there was just the right amount of people there to be comfortably walking around and checking the clothes. There was also some drinks and nibbles so we were sipping champagne while seeing the models walk around so effortlessly chic with their amazing Dior pieces. What´s not to like? What a great evening!

Dior presented this collection back in May in California. The desert was the perfect landscape for this wild wild west style collection. It was all about long printed dresses, knits, and western style hats. For me, it was a great example of bringing the couture to real life. I found the pieces wearable and I could easily see myself wearing many of them. Maybe not as a total look, but definitely as single items added to my daily style. All the sweaters are so cozy and easy to wear with jeans. And what about the boots?! I did fall in love with the black militar style boots, they were my favourites. By the way, did you notice all the models were wearing flats? I told you, all this collection was about bringing the designs down to earth, making them wearable but maintaining that Dior feminine allure.

Did you also notice that change on this collection? What do you think about the shift from heels to flats?

Hope you like it!

Marta

Sketch London

Hey there,

Today’s post is about the famous pink restaurant in London. You’ve guessed it right, Sketch! This instagrammable place with pink seats. But that’s not all it has to offer. I was impressed by the food! Once you go to the most popular dining places in London, soon you realize they have very similar dishes, but this place was something else.

As a starter I had  ‘chantilly lace’: black rice, basmati rice, lobster bisque, red pepper and wasabi. It was really delicious. What what impressed me the most was the main course I had: the ‘whole-roasted Challans duck’, which is for two people to share and includes two services. Once the duck is cooked they bring it to your table and show it to you before they prepare your plate. The first one was aiguilettes (thin slices) in a black currant sauces with autumn fruits. The second services was ‘choux farci’ duck tights and chicory salad. And I also had to have some French fries as a side, of course!

Check all the food and the gorgeous space by yourself, I’m sure it won’t take long to add this place to your list!

Hope you like it!

Somerset House

Hey there,

Long time no see, sorry about that! It´s always hard to juggle real life with a full time job and a blog. The good news is I´ve found a photographer –– woo-hoo!

That will help me to create content for the blog and I can´t be more excited to start working with her! So watch this space.

I  know summer is gone but here in London we are having a slow transicion to the full autumn weather so I thought it would be a good time for me to share this look today.

The photos were taken like a month ago in Somerset House which is a beautiful place that hosts exhibitions. You might have seen pictures before, there is an open space with fountains during the summer that is replace by an ice-skating rink in the winter.

Here I´m wearing a boho-chic dress from UO that I bought in San Francisco last year. I love the crochet design and the bell sleeves that gives the dress that 70´s touch.

I combined the dress with a denim jacket (Wrangler is a classic) and suede mules in a pastel color that gives the look the perfect pop of color, don´t you agree?

Hope you like it!
